MtBaker E-Juice Review

3MG
100% VG
Flavor: Guabanan Berry is an infusion of guava, bananas, and berries. This decidedly fruity offering is sure to entice those who prefer sweeter tasting juice, and much to my approval, it is definitively so. The flavors, while not inherently complex on their own, blend together well, forming a fruity, sweet, tasty infusion of tropical goodness. It’s a very light juice, with no particular flavor taking precedence – I detect equal parts banana, berry, and guava, with a slight emphasis on the tangy, crisp guava notes. All things considered, it is a delightfully light, flavorful vape, sure to appease those looking for a tasty tropical sensation.
Rating: 5/5, a great mix of classic staples. Easy on coils as well, this juice is clear.

Flavor: This flavor is a bit of complex creation – out of the mail, I cannot sugarcoat it – it is not a very good juice. The mix is rather intricate, and definitely has to steep in order to flesh out the individual flavor notes. So, what did I do? I shelved it for a good two weeks, with ultra-sonic bathes here and there, til the bottle permeated with the familiar scent of delicious coffee cake. After giving it an ample amount of time to steep, I’ve got to say… I devoured this bottle. The coffee note is very, very subtle; in fact, the juice tastes more along the lines of the top layer of the cake. Crispy cinnamon with hints of brown sugar and creamy cake batter. For you dessert junkies out there, you can’t pass on this juice. Heed the warnings and steep it because it was not pleasant straight out of the box. Definitely a juice I plan on revisiting in the future.
Rating: 4/5. A tasty treat for dessert junkies, however, it does require a relatively long amount of time to age to its desired perfection.

3MG

Flavor: A bold emission, removing the mint from the staple 'Thug Juice', this reincarnation aptly named Hug Juice is twist - berry and watermelon, sans menthol. I personally was never a fan of Thug Juice, so I was a bit excited to get my hands on this. Unfortunately, however, the mix somewhat faltered...perhaps I got a bum brew, or the mint really rounds out the flavor complexity, but it suffered from the perfumey, artificial taste that has a tendency to plague some liquids. I gave it an ample amount of time to steep, and sadly, it did not come to fruition, remaining bitter sweet, and artificial. I would like to note, however, a friend purchased the juice prior to this review, and I was able to try it. It tasted a bit better than the mix I received, with a crisp berry taste, and a feint watermelon note on the exhale.
Rating2/5. It seems to be hit or miss, but I know the liquid has the potential to be at least vapeable, if not enjoyable to some.

Flavor: Constable hit this one out of the park, I'll say that much. CCC, as I'd like to call it, blends sweet sugar cookies with a hint of cream and coconut into a wonderfully enticing liquid. I'm a big dessert junkie, so I had a hunch this would be the best of the bunch ha-ha-ha. In all seriousness, however, I was right - this was definitely my favorite mixture. With just the right blend of coconut and sugar cookie, this juice was a win across all fronts in my book. It's light yet flavorful, crisp yet with a right amount of depth. The inhale is were the sugar cookie notes shine, with the exhale permeating coconut and a hint of sweet cream. It's another, if I could, I'd drink it type of juice.
Rating: 5/5, a sure fire way to appease you dessert junkies!

3MG
100% VG

Flavor: The ever famous Hawk Sauce went through a re-invigoration itself, if you will, similar to what we saw with Hug Juice. Thawed Sauce is a re-imagining of sorts, omitting the menthol from the uber popular berry tart liquid. To be honest, I'm a fan. The menthol really made the juice what it was, but surprisingly, it's omission still leaves behind a solid, enjoyable liquid. It's everything you'd expect from a bottle of Hawk, minus the menthol - tart and succulent, flavorful berry tastes run rampant throughout the bottle, ensuring a pleasant experience all around. It's fairly light, good to go out of the mail box, and won't wreck your coils. If you're on the market for a somewhat sour, semi-sweet berry vape, look no further than Thawed Sauce.
Rating4/5, a decidedly solid berry vape for all you fruit fans out there.

Flavor: RY4 blends are among the elite of the elite in the vape world, one of the few juices around since day one. This particular mixture is, to date, my absolute favorite offering. The extroadinarily robust, crisp tobacco taste blends exceptionally well with hints of vanilla and caramel, leading to an industry standard that can still stand the test of time. At this point in my tenure, I stay away from any and all tobacco liquids, as I am completely content leaving the taste, as well as the idea of tobacco, in the past. I however, cannot shy away from a bottle of Ruyan 4 by MtBakerVapor. It's just one damn fine juice, and for all those chasing that robust flavorful tobacco taste with just the right amount of something sweet, Ruyan 4 is sure to please everybody out there. Just an all around fantastic juice, even for people like me, who could sleep peacefully knowing RY4 of all kinds disappeared.
Rating4/5, a decidedly solid berry vape for all you fruit fans out there.

Flavor: Before I start, I'd like to point out that I have yet to find a vapeable cherry juice. I'm not sure if the flavoring just does not transition well into a juice, or if we just lack a proper flavor, but this is not a juice I enjoyed. Out of the mail, it was bitter, harsh, and overly currant - not a fan, so I threw it in my ultrasonic over the course of two weeks, and tried again. After some time to steep, the mixture mellowed out, and I was able to taste the citrus blend, but the cherry was just overpowering in a very bad way. It tastes like a bitter cough syrup, and I was not able to enjoy it in any setup. For what it is worth, a co-worker enjoyed it, but to each their own.
Rating1/5. MtBaker are experimenting with new juices, so I won't hold it against them, but this just is not up to standard.

3MG
100% VG

Flavor: An infusion of berry and sweet candy in an attempt to capture the juicy goodness of taffy, I've got to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I personally don't care for candy vapes, or fruit for that matter - while I will never shy away from giving proper dues, I'm simply far more interested in the world of desserts...if you haven't got that yet. Wacky Taffy, however, is a delightful surprise, offering a very sweet, berry vape, that I could honestly use all day long. I noticed no soapiness, no perfume taste, nothing to complain about - it's just one groovy, simple juice. I'm a big fan, if you're looking for an awesomely sweet berry juice, pick up a bottle of Wacky Taffy, you won't be disappointed.
Rating: 5/5, a very nice surprise, one of the best juices I've had from MtBaker.

Goblin RTA

Finally, I have my hands on the Goblin

Is the Goblin taking the vape world by storm? Is it really everything it's cracked up to be?

With ridiculous air flow, four post design, ALL STAINLESS (!!) construction AND under 40 bucks, it is a definitive force to be reckoned with. It does have a few kinks, but at the present time, I am all but sure the v1.2 has rectified most of them. Let's break it down now.

With atomizers, it goes without saying that the quality of the atomizer in question is quintessential. If the manafacturer cut corners, you're going to to run into some difficulty. Posts can spin (or, in one case with a plume veil I had, NOT EVEN DRILLED OUT), screws can strip, decks short, etc, the list goes on and on. So, in the 24.99-34.99 price point, it's a safe bet to assume costs were invariably cut somewhere.

Well, either Youde is really, really good at keeping material and overhead down, or they just know what the community wants. After the animosity surrounding the ceramic wick in the atlantis, the chrome plated brass plume veil clones, and the chrome plated brass aspire mini, Youde listened to the community. Some put too much stock in the brass/stainless war, but I certainly want stainless steel, when available, at all times. It should be the standard, at this point. Copper and brass look fine on a mod, but I do not want any particulate matter in my lungs, and I'm sure nobody else does either.

So Youde decided to construct this bad mother out of solid stainless steel. The drip tip, deck, and chimney are 100% stainless, which is both durable, and SAFE. This is the kind of quality I've come to expect from higher priced authentic devices, and to see a 29.99 down RTA constructed out of stainless steel, is, well... a steal (don't groan, I know that was awful.)

Big plus, in my book. Now, just because it is constructed out of a preferable material, does that also mean the device boasts  similarly admirable usability? Yes, in fact, it does. Everything about the device is built solid. The deck is done exceptionally well, with rigid, straight posts. The screws are a bit finicky with larger wire, but we'll touch on that later. The deck itself is machined incredibly well, with some very unique juice channels. They run all the way down the base, ensuring a perfect vacuum is achievable. The included drip tip is a no frill approach, but has a wide enough bore. The 510 pin protrudes nicely, ensuring a snug fit on most devices, and even hybrid devices. The adjustable pin is solid copper, to boost conductivity. The included pyrex is reasonably thick, and fits like a glove when the tank itself is assembled. I do, however, have a few small complaints.

For one, the deck and chimney are on the small side. This makes builds larger than 2.5mm in a diameter a struggle, and to be perfectly honest, regular builds can be tricky as well. I find the key is getting your leads clipped as short as humanely possible, so that you can ensure the coils are as close to the block as possible. If they're even a touch backed out, when the equally small chimney is screwed down, the coils will touch the wall and short. I had a bit of difficulty adjusting to this, but it is rectified rather easily - 28g wires seems to be the consensus here, as you can get more wraps and maintain a smaller coil. This is something easily overlooked once you get more comfortable acclimating to the space constraints. I can know wedge in builds will relative ease, it just required a bit of a learning curve.

The second complaint is the screw hole on the bottom. This device is fed juice by way of a fill hole, which I have never been a fan of. The provided screw locks into place with ease, but for some reason, the device does occasionally leak - something I observed over the course of a few days. It could be the viscosity of higher VG juice, but for some reason, it does have a tendency to get a bit leaky.

Suffice to say, the Goblin is constructed well. Initially, the community was a bit nit-picky about the 3ml capacity, but Youde quickly introduced a larger tank and chimney, allowing the v1.2 to hold a surprisingly large amount of juice - 5ml, to be exact. Unlike the atlantis, you do not have to buy this extension separately - both the chimney and pyrex are included, which is a nice bonus.

So...let's break down the pros and cons so far.

PROS

  • Solid, full stainless steel construction
  • Ridiculous airflow (3mm, dual)
  • V1.2 includes an extension tube for higher capacity (5ml)
  • 22mm
  • Drip tip included

CONS

  • Deck is on the small side
  • Screws are hit or miss
  • Tends to leak from the fill hole (minimally, but noticeable.)
  • It can be hard to wick the device. I will share a video that was instrumental in getting this to perform to expectations, as the man explains it far better than I ever could.

So far....it's a very, very good start. The pros far outweigh the cons. Now, if you're wondering how it performs...

It's an absolute monster.

The Goblin v1.2 is a lean, mean, asskicking RTA machine. Though the design may need refining ever so slightly, it's an absolute beast of a tank, giving the closet RDA experience, in RTA form. The dual 3mm airflow is just as big as the mephisto! It's larger than the sub tank, atlantis, lemo, billow, etc - it just puts the majority of the market to shame. With the right build, and wicking, you can get serious sub-ohm clouds, and flavor to boot.

I was, in all honesty, absolutely blown away by this device. Before I go on further, let me back peddle abit.

The Goblin has four channels, which need to be delicately taken care of, in order to ensure optimal performance. I could give you a run down, but I found a video that explains in the greatest of detail how to get this thing rocking and rolling, with absolutely NO dry hits. I struggled getting consistent hits, until I stumbled upon this. Do yourself a favor and give it a look - this man has it down to a science.

Okay...so, if you managed to sit through that incredibly long video, I applaud you, and hope you're well on your way to enjoying the device.

Once the build is perfected, their is absolutely no competition. The goblin can keep up with chain vaping, high VG juice, you name it. It seems that the science behind it is perfecting the wicking - and though it may be a continous process of frustrating trial and error, it is absolutely worth it. My experience with RTAs is minimal, but I can tell you that it gave me a far more enjoyable experience than the likes of the lemo, the billow, and the kayfun v4. It's on it's way to become an industry leader, and I see future revisions as the king of the RTA game.

Personally, I find it to be hands down, the best experience outside of an RDA. If you're looking to chase clouds and flavor, this does it all in stride. It is an absolute blessing, as I can now drive and work around the house without taking a pause to get a nice, dense, flavorful cloud.

MBV Juice Review # 3

My campaign with MtBakerVapor is coming to a close, and I must say...it was a wonderful opportunity that both strengthened my ability as a writer, as well as giving me the opportunity to cultivate my opinions, and share information with the community, as a reviewer. I am forever grateful to Michael and Mikala, two of the best people I've had the pleasure of dealing with in this hobby. Let's get down to the review

3mg
100% VG
Verdict: Though relatively simplistic by design, Root Beer offers a traditional, albeit conservative, approach to the popular soft drink. The inhale is delightfully crisp, with the familiar taste of root beer and a tinge of sarsaparilla, with a sort of carbonated/"bubbly" taste following the inhale. It is sweet, but could do with some sweetener - out of the bottle, it was almost...a bit bland? It is not a bad juice, however, it is missing...something. It could do with a touch more sweetener, maybe even a very light vanilla back, rounding out the close-but-not-there crispy sweetness. For what it's worth, the crispness is evident when dripping - I recommend using this in a tank, or a higher ohm build, as it kicked like a mule on a 0.1 ohm twisted dual coil. It was almost a bit too much, a similar feeling to dripping mentholated juices.
Rating- 3/5. It's not bad it's just missing something. This was the first bottle I ever purchased over 30ml (236ml, I believe) and I GUZZLED it. Times change, as do formulas and palletes. I'd wager an extra flavor or two will set this juice straight, propelling it as close as possible to the real deal.

3mg
100% VG
Verdict: The skeptic in me doubted this concoction, recklessly anticipating a trainwreck - I mean, pumpkin pie? Surely this is some sort of joke, I've yet to come across a flavor such as that, much less one that reasonable emulated the taste of the familiar treat. Fortunately enough, my doubt subsided the moment I first tried this juice - my god they've done it. Pumpkin Pie is a near perfect rendition of the classic fall treat, encapsulating the creamy, velvety texture, the oh-so delectable sweet taste of pumpkin, and even the whipped cream on top. I could use a wide variety of words to pad the review and eloquently break down the taste, but really, it's just sweet, creamy pumpkin pie. If you're a ran of the treat, you're doing yourself an injustice by not vaping this. It's everything you could want, and more, free of that silly artificial/perfume taste, as well as disappoint. It's always a nice change of pace when something you anticipate to do poorly becomes a new favorite.
Rating - 5/5. Dessert junkies, this is one juice you can't miss. Upon further inspection, it is listed as "almost gone" and may or may not be phased out of production. Get it while you can. Mikala, get me a 236ml. (Kidding...;])

3mg
100% VG
Verdict: Back in the days of Protank Mini 2s and the Ego-T, I gave this juice a shot. I was never a menthol smoker, nor did I envision myself at that point being a berry fanatic. After giving it a vape, I egregiously threw it out, chalking it up to "just what in the absolute hell is this?" Remember when I said palettes change? Well, let me tell you, I damn near drank this bottle (once again, I do not endorse doing this. Don't. Please. Can't afford those kind of repercussions, especially considering nobody iseven questioning if this is a paid review...hint...wink...hint..okay I'm done. Though you cannot drink it, I'd wager you'd feel as if you were, if you fancy it the way I did. The combination of various tropical berries and a smooth, refreshing blast of menthol is a hard combo to master, and even harder to perfect. Is it perfect? Well, no. Is it irrefutably delicious? I think so. The inhale is abundant with it's berry tastes, raspberry and I want to say blueberry, with the exhale being all menthol. It seems that the menthol has been scaled back, as I remember it being overwhelmingly strong. In a tank, it's still not my cup of tea. Out of the Mutation V3, it was gone before I knew it. Chances are, you've probably had it. If not, do yourself a favor, pick up a small bottle to try - menthol isn't for everybody, but this juice will be damned if it's denied!
Rating: 4/5 - previous inconsistencies hold this juice back, steep time may or may not be advisable, but when it's done right, it can't be beat.

3mg
100% VG
Verdict: Honestly, I don't even like Pink Lemonade. I found it deplorable as a child, more-so as an adult. Funny thing is, though, I totally love lemonade, so I half assumed this would be somewhat of enjoyable experience. For review purposes, it's mediocre at best. Subjectively, I can't tolerate it. To be blunt, it tastes like a glass of pink lemonade. Seriously. It's sour, it's tangy, and it's... pink. That is my main gripe with the juice. The lemonade is great, and has always been a favorite of mine from MBV, but whatever simulates the pink taste just does not sit right with me. It's as if the vape starts good, but abruptly reaches a halt, turning into something I wouldn't touch again. If you're a fan of the drink, or if you're looking for a semi-sweet tangy lemonade liquid, this could be the one for you. Personally, I'm not a fan.
Verdict: 2/5 - just not something I can vape on, but something I can totally see others enjoying.

GWAR E-Juice from MtBakerVapor

Hey everybody! Hope you had a wonderful holiday season, and I hope I'm not the only one who is happy that it's finally over! Today, I'll be reviewing MtBakerVapors GWAR line. This isn't a gimmick people, I'd wager it's some of the best juice you can get from MtBakerVapor - and a 30ml is only 10.99, proving you don't have to pay for premium. If GWAR themselves vape it, how can you not?

I wouldn't argue with 'em, just saying.

All of these juices were tested using a Cana DNA 30w device, 30 watts, using a magma with a single coil reading at 1.2 ohm. The juice provided utilized food coloring, however MBV offers it uncolored as well. All GWAR flavors come in a standard 50/50 ratio, with your preferred level of nicotine, in 30ml glass bottles with a dropper.

3mg
50/50 ratio
DescriptionA primarily melon flavor with hints of mixed fruits and berries. From the wretched bowels of Scumdogs to your lips. A true Gwar classic.
Impression: I'll get this right out of the way - when I first picked up Spew, I hated it. Not because it tasted bad - but because I apparently hate honey dew / melon. So after a few months, I'm in a position to once again try it. Let me tell you, vaping this out of a magma at 30 watts vs an innokin clearomizer, you'd swear it was a different juice. The overall flavor profile is still there - it is decidedly melon, with a hint of berry. The inhale is uniquely sweet and fruity, with the exhale allowing a mix of melon and berry to permeate. The wretched bowels of scumdogs are apparently inherently tasty and delicious, if not deceptive - if you've visited this juice in the past before, try it out of a flavor-chaser (magma, plume veil, orchid, kayfun) you will be floored. Keep in mind however, the honey dew / melon combination is the primary flavor, so if you're not sold on that, you may want to steer clear.
Rating : 4/5 - it is delicious, tasty, and true-to-life melon goodness - however, it is just a touch too sweet, and not something I could vape constantly.

3mg
50/50 ratio
DescriptionA sweet cake flavor with the perfect combination of chocolate, coconut, and caramel. This liquid was concocted from an ancient recipe enjoyed by all who reside on the planet Cholesterol.
Impression: Just one drip and I was hooked. Seriously, I booked a first class flight to planet Cholesterol and never looked back. The inhabitants of Planet Cholesterol all vape, and GCB flows like water. In all honesty, this is a damn fine juice, and if you're a dessert junkie desperately hunting down the latest custard, cake, or a similarly decadent juice, do yourself a favor - grab a bottle of German Chocolate Beefcake. Within the 30ml bottle is devilishly divine mixture of coconut, chocolate caramel, and cake flavoring. I primarily picked up on the coconut and chocolate mix - that is, until I dripped this on a twisted coil, and began to salivate from the mouth just thinking about it. With the right device and build, you'd swear this was a 19-26.99 bottle of juice - the inhale is rich in coconut flakes and a caramel drizzle, with the exhale tasting of frosted chocolate cake. I was actually quite surprised that such a complex flavor delivered so well - I ran this bottle empty in about two days time.
Rating : 5/5 - a simply wonderful dessert liquid, and probably one of the very few liquids that live's up to it's description and more.

3mg

Description A creamy blueberry blend with notes of nut and custard. Each bottle of Jizmoglobin is freshly harvested by Skulhedface herself.
Impression: Skulhedface, as she so eloquently puts it, should really ramp up production on the Jizmoglobin harvesting, 'cause this juice is tasty. The description is an accurate representation of the juice - though I noticed some who have tried it seem to detect a blueberry pie taste. Personally, I get all custard and nut - almost an almond like taste. The blueberry is definitely there, but it isn't as pronounced as I expected - though this isn't a bad thing. The custard taste is more of a sweet cream like custard, not the semi-sweet and eggy blend you'd find in other custard juices. The inhale packs the custard taste, with the exhale stomping all over the place with it's rich, slightly sharp almond nutty taste. It's a winner of a combination, and is a juice I simply can't put down . Personally, I don't like anything getting in the way of my custard, but I'll be damned in a hint of blueberry and a kick of nuts doesn't do it's diligence.
Rating 5/5 - 2 for 3, we're on a roll - if you like  custard and blueberry, and itching for a twist on the classic dessert, you can't go wrong.

Description Our lords and masters Gwar commanded we make an Ry4 worthy of them. This is our take on a classic vanilla caramel tobacco flavor.
Impression: As a large majority of smokers convert to vapors, it is only fitting that the lords and masters command a proper RY4. Now, you know you're onto something good when a former smoker turned vapor despised tobacco liquid, yet ate up GwarY4 like it was going out of business. Perhaps it is because the tobacco flavoring isn't too strong, or that the caramel and vanilla is prominent and delicious - who knows. What I do know, is this juice surprised the hell out of me. GwarY4 definitely perfects the RY4 blend - a classic tobacco taste with a caramel and vanilla twist. Once I popped the dropper off, the familiar and tasty smell of caramel and vanilla immediately struck a chord, and from first taste, I was hooked. The caramel and vanilla combo really is a perfect blend, and honestly, I'd love to see a variant without the tobacco. However, for those who are consistently chasing that tobacco taste, or just want a classic twist on a tried and true, do yourself a favor and pick this up. I'd go as far as recommending this to those who desperately avoid tobacco flavors - it is fantastic.
Rating : 4/5 - a classic tobacco liquid with a deceptively decadent dessert twist. Love or hate tobacco, give it a shot - you may be just as surprised as I was.

3mg
50/50 ratio
Description A powerful tropical fruit blend specially designed to satisfy the bloodlust of every scumdog in the universe.
Impression: To be frank, I wasn't a fan of this juice from the get go - I initially anticipated it to be one of the best of the bunch, going by the description - tropical fruit, right? Eh, not so much. I'm still working through the bottle, and the taste is growing on me, however I still am not getting much of a "fruit taste." In all honesty, it tastes very, very similar to the Hawaiin Punch juice. The only missing thing is the carbonation, really, 'cause the fruit blend afforded to us is really probably the recipe for Hawaiin Punch. It's not bad, but it may have to grow on you - I don't hate it, but I probably wouldn't revisit it in the future.
Rating : 3/5 - not bad, a bit deceptive if anything, but has all the potential to be a favorite for someone.

I'd like to thank the guys at MtBakerVapor for making this possible. Your help in my endeavors have been monumental, and for that I cannot thank you enough. Everybody get over to MtBakerVapor and snag a bottle or two from the GWAR line - you won't be disappointed.

Keep an eye out for my Cana DNA30W and Magma review - a combo that absolutely crushes most devices out there. Thanks for stopping by!

The Aspire Atlantis

Finally...I have it. Within my hands at this very moment is none other than the Atlantis by Aspire. Aaron from www.smokenmist.com gave me the opportunity to review it, and well.. this thing is revolutionary. If you told me a year ago I could achieve this sort of performance using a clearo, I'd laugh. Get ready.

Let's take a look at the definition of "Game Changer" as it has been thrown around quite a lot when discussing the Atlantis.

game chang·er
noun
  1. an event, idea, or procedure that effects a significant shift in the current manner of doing or thinking about something.
"a potential game changer that could revitalize the entire US aerospace industry"

.... Though that picture may not be the official emblem of the world, in our context, I find it perfectly suitable. To be completely honest, I had extremely high hopes for this tank. I first found out about it when KidneyPuncher prematurely launched their presale. It was swiftly removed at the behest of Aspire, only to resurface a few days later. It was listed at, I believe, 44.99. 44.99? I could put that to better use, I thought...no clearo could command that price.

Or so I thought.

The atlantis is a remarkable design, breathing life into our world, that some could say we needed. I personally find it difficult keeping track of each new RDA, as it seems that they burst onto the market on a weekly basis. x has more airflow, y has four posts, z has a wide bore drip tip, w is made out of SS, e out of copper, etc. I could go on and on and on. This is not a bad thing, however if you're consistently trying to stay on top of your game, you need to be apart of the gear race - I tend to stay towards the back, watching the evolution, planning my purchases....now I can do that for a longer period of time, getting back into the market when something truly entices me.

The Atlantis is aspires answer to sub ohming. The Atlantis proves  that you do NOT need to know how to build, you do NOT need to tinker, and you CAN get clouds in the process. A year ago, a lot of people would of scoffed at the thought. "0.5 ohms? In a CLEARO? You're mad." I remember when people would shy away from building that low in fear of a dead short.

Let's take a look at the specifications.

Product Features:
  • Huge bore drip tip
  • Stainless construction with aspire logo
  • Sub-Ohm Coils - Patented Aspire BVC technology (Much improved BVC coils)
  • Sub-Ohm Heads are 0.5 ohm coil
  • Compatible with 20-45w (though I have successfully used it at 50w)
  • Adjustable airflow control similar to a RBA

On paper, that sounds amazing. Unfortunately, in the vape game, certain hardware just does not live up to standard. Fortunately, the Atlantis does. I'll take you through a walkthrough now, breaking down everything I like, the construction, and what I do not like.

- Packaging

The Aspire Atlantis comes pre-packaged in a nice plastic box, sealed with tape. It rests within a form-fitting foam insert, gently cradling the clearomizer as it makes it's way to your doorstep. Within the plastic box are the Aspire Atlantis, containing a pre-installed 0.5 ohm coil, a replacement coil, and a replacement pyrex tube. I was ecstatic when I found out it came with replacement glass, as I have managed to shatter the glass on the original nautilus not once, but twice. Peace of mind should be at hand for the butterfingers like myself out there.

I've got to say that I was impressed with the stylish, yet minimal, packaging. I'm glad that Aspire opted out of the traditional box packaging that the protanks, nautilus, and similar clearos come in. In fact, I think it was just as much of an appearance decision as a marketing - these things will look very, very classy stacked in a B&W. I certainly felt that I was handling something of value, truly content that I had a piece of gear to cherish.

- Looks

I was a bit concerned that the Atlantis would look a bit gaudy on a mechanical mod, box, what have you. I, like many others, love a uniform look. I prefer to match my stainless RDAs with stainless mods, copper with copper, etc. I always liked the look of a kayfun nano on a SS mech, or a kraken on a brass, but I was concerned with the Atlantis as it looks like, well, a traditional clearo. It has no definitive "look", if you will, it merely looks like a beefed up clearo on steroids.

Well, that's not a bad thing, 'cause it actually looks pretty neat sitting atop any given mod, box, etc. It is fairly large, despite having a 2ml capacity. I appreciate the appearance, and it has now grown on me so much so that I actually prefer it over the kayfun, kraken, etc.

- Construction

It is safe to say that this thing is built like a tank. I seriously remain at loss for a better word, this thing seems like it can take an absolute beating. The pyrex tank is very thick, and just oozes quality - it threads onto the base of the tank, as well as the top cap, with butter smooth ease. The drip tip is exceptionally well made, and boasts quite a larger bore - I actually like to throw it on an RDA from time to time, it is that large. The chimney and base remain near identical to the original nautilus - you thread the coil into the base, and than the base into the chimney, to ensure a snug, tight fit. This is secured in place by a rubber gasket, which seems redesigned as well. I found that the rubber gasket in the original nautilus was too large, and if you threaded the base in too tightly, you'd need pliers to get it free. This is probably a case by case basis, but it has happened to me, and others, on more than one occasion.

Another thing I'd like to mention is the AFC ring is just a pleasure to use. The original nautilus was a pain, the nautilus mini was a bit better, but this thing just works. It seems to conform to the base very, very tightly, letting it turn back and form with ease. It is also considerably larger, with indents that are very easy to grip and turn back and forth. I have used this tank heavily and it has not once got stuck, sticky, or refused to turn. Another great addition to the AFC is the options it affords to the user.

The smallest setting is about the size of the largest setting on the original nautilus.
The second is marginally bigger.
The third is a miniature cyclops slit.
The fourth is a larger cyclops slit, I'd say eyeballing it, it is bigger than the stock Stillare slit.

This definitely provides a wide range of air flow. If you are a mouth to lung hitter, the first two settings will feel at home for you. The third is an improvement, and the fourth is balls to the wall airflow, for a clearomizer. Will those who use RDAS such as the darkhorse, doge, mephisto, still want more airflow? Probably. However, you have to take into consideration that this is a clearomizer, and for what we're working with, it is a ton of air flow. I'd go as far to say that it is more than both the orchid AND the kayfun, two direct competitors to the RDA market.

Another thing I'd like to touch on is the coils. They're similar to the recently introduced BVC coils, but they are a lot larger, and therefore not interchangeable with the mini and vice versa. They are 0.5 ohms, appear to be 24 gauge, traditional wrapped (ie, not a contact/micro coil) and surrounded by the same ceramic fiber. I personally do not like the ceramic fiber, however I am pleased to say that users are already rebuilding, and rewicking. It can get a bit tricky, but it is possible, and I definitely look forward to rewicking mine. If you would rather keep it stock, the produce an ample amount of vapor, rich flavor, and I have got a week out of one at 40w and it is still going strong.

Overall, it is built incredibly well, and is evident that Aspire definitely took attention to detail. It is not a drastic design, in fact, it is quite similar to the nautilus, however they seem to have perfected the quirks with this bad boy.

- Performance

Let's get to what everybody wants to hear...does the Atlantis live up to the hype?

This thing is revolutionary. For those of you out there who want clouds, yet you are not ready to build, the Atlantis is for you. With just a single 0.5 ohm coil, I am able to get some admirable clouds out of a mechanical mod, and some down right impressive ones out of a regulated. It absolutely crushes the orchid, kayfun, and quite a few entry level drippers (in my opinion.) Is it a replacement for some of the better RBAS, such as the mutation x v2, the plume veil, the dark horse, mephisto, doge, etc? No. If you are satisfied with the experience you get from those, (or others), and confident in your building abilities, you probably do not "need" the atlantis. If you are however, getting tired of building, or looking for something to take with you to work or in the car, consider the Atlantis. It is a comparable experience, providing dense vapor, and some pretty powerful flavor.
With that in mind, I'd like to point out that while it does work on a mechanical mod, I personally believe it is best at home on a regulated. It is advertised at being operable up to 30w, but I have personally took it to 50w and not once got a dry hot. It was a bit warmer than I'd like, but I had to test it out. It can definitely handle a higher wattage, and if you like a warmer vape, than feel free to experiment. I personally found it works best at around 40w, creating a harmonious balance of flavor and vapor.

I am thoroughly impressed. The Atlantis manages to chuck vapor, provide wonderful flavor, and the coils are still going strong after a whole week at 40w, I personally feel that it now replaces the need to upgrade to an RBA. Instead, users can opt in for the Atlantis, if they're looking to achieve a similar experience, yet not wanting to dive into building just yet. It can be a stepping stone, or a one and done - I often find myself wondering if I'd be at the rebuildable/hobby phase if this was available to me when I made the jump from my nautilus/mvp to a king/magma.
One of the only downfalls about the atlantis is the 2ml capacity. At higher wattages, 2ml of juice will not last long, and as a heavy vapor, I can go through about 3-4 tanks a day, depending on how much I vape. I personally feel that I am utilizing juice better however, as with a dripper I find myself vaping more and more. The 2ml capacity is a slight hindrance at best, and I wouldn't be surprised if aspire came out with a larger pyrex tube. This may take away from the aesthetic appeal but hey, if we can get a 5ml tank, I'd be okay with an ugly form factor.
If you're on the fence about rebuilding, pick up an Atlantis. If you hate feeling like you're diffusing a bomb when you drip at a red light, pick up an Atlantis. If you just need something for around the house when you're feeling lazy and you RDA needs a build, pick up the Atlantis.

PSA : I'd like to bring something to the attention of those who are new to vaping and are considering an Aspire Atlantis. The Aspire Atlantis is a sub ohm device, and therefore, is only compatible with high drain batteries that can support the amp limit. It will not work on the following devices
- Ego batteries and variations
- Itaste VTR, Itaste VV/VW, Itaste MVP
- Eleaf iStick
- Any regulated mod that can not fire below 0.7 ohms (as the coils typically meter at 0.6)
If you wish to use an Aspire Atlantis, make sure you're using high drain batteries with an appropriate amp limit. Do not attempt to fire this clearomizer unless you have a battery that is rated for the amp load. Personal injury CAN occur. Verify that the device you're using is compatible. Mechanical mods (with proper batteries), unregulated mods, and regulated mods that can fire down to 0.5ohms are suitable. Do your research and please, be safe.
It just works, people.

Nautilus/Nautilus Mini/Atlantis

Thanks for taking the time to read my review. If you're finding yourself in the market for an Atlantis, my buddy Aaron at www.smokenmist.com has them listed for 29.99 - the lowest price stateside I have came across. I'd like to once again thank him for the opportunity, and personally let him know that I sincerely value our partnership.

Mutation X V2 Review

Hey everybody. Today, I'll be going over the Mutation X V2 atomizer by Indulgence. I got this from Jonathan at www.alluringvapors.com to review and I must say, it has been the only RDA in my rotation for going on two weeks!

The title says it all. The Mutation X V2 has successfully carved out all of my other RDAs, standing tall as the definite dripping experience. Let's go ahead and take a look at the specifications

Four post split design
SS construction
Top sink to disperse heat
Triangle torque screws
18 (!) airholes
Wide bore delrin drip tip
Deep juice well
Original and AFFORDABLE

All in all, this thing is amazing. Let's break it down and go over each and every aspect of this beast.

- Deck
For those who own a plume veil or a CLT, you're in for a nice surprise. Instead of the tri-post design of the original mutation X, the v2 features a split, four post deck. This a nice addition to the already fantastic design, as it affords the user more room to build, as well as making center coils a very easy process. The negative posts are milled into the deck, and the split block is secured by a PEEK insulator and screw, just like many other RDAs. The posts themselves are very, very sturdy - I have not once noticed any indication of spinning, nor do I imagine I will.

Another cool feature is that the v2 features triangular torque screws. Initially I was skeptical, because I would need a new tool, and the traditional screws are easier to replace/locate in the size required. Fortunately, a torque screw came with the atomizer, and it seems very, very sturdy. I have done about six or seven builds so far, and the torque screwdriver is holding up just fine, as are the screws. I am beginning to wish that all RDAs featured these screws. They lock into place very easily, have yet to cut my wire, and do not back out over time as the posts and threads begin to wear down. I also believe that they will survive for quite some time, striped screws are a major pain in the ass, however I'm confident this won't be an issue.

The well itself is absolutely massive - deeper than the stillare, mephisto, patriot, and even the tobh. I would not say it is the deepest well I have ever used, but it is definitely near the top.

- Airflow
This is what made the original mutation a must have atomizer. Essentially, the original mutation was a tobh on steroids. It featured a similar deck, cap, and design. The V2 has successfully distanced itself from the tobh, turning itself into a standalone competitor. With the revolutionized deck, so comes the airflow. The original mutation featured 18 air holes, as does the V2, however the V2 now has the ability to run in single coil configuration. The AFC is accomplished by sliced blades that can block the holes accordingly. I personally do not see a reason to run the v2 in single coil mode, however I do know that plenty of people prefer to, so it is definitely nice to have the option.

With the sliced blades comes a more powerful airflow, as it can effectively create a power vortex of vapor, if you will. The V2 is a fog machine, no doubt about it. I can fog up most of my apartment in about 15 minutes, so if you're looking to chase some serious clouds, the V2 is what you're looking for.

Included with the V2 is a wide bore delrin drip tip. It is definitely wider than your standard 510, I'd say if I had to eyeball it about half the size of a chuff. Delrin is comfortable to vape off, it does not get hot, nor will it get cold in the winter time like SS tips may. One thing I do not like about the DT is that because it is so large, the top cap can only accommodate it and it only. It is simply far to large to house a standard 510, and I have not found a compatible sized chuff (though for what it is worth, the clones of the V2 come packaged with a chuff style cap.)

- Flavor
I'm going to come right out and say I did not expect this much flavor from the v2. The original, in my opinion, did not have a ton of flavor - it was meant for cloud chasing, and that is what it did best. The v2 however, perfects the combo. I get a TON of flavor and even more vapor. I believe it is because the inner diameter is larger than the original, and I can close off my air holes. Another nice improvement.

- Construction/Packaging
To be blunt, this thing is built well. It features 304 grade stainless steel, milled posts, a peek insulator, an ultra wide bore drip tip, heat sink cooling fins, and 18 airholes. The craftsmanship at it's price point (27.99) is astonishing, giving those who are teetering on clone or authentic an affordable option to pursue originality, affordability, and durability.

The packaging itself is a nice touch as well. It comes in a neatly wrapped gift box, and within the gift box are four replacement screws, replacement o-rings (for the deck and the drip tip) and a torque screw. I was glad to know that I had back up screws as I do not have any of these lying around.

Overall, the mutation X V2 is definitely worth it's price and at this point should be a staple in any vapors arsenal. If you're looking for a comfortable deck to build on, flavor, and more vapor than you know what to do with, you need to look into purchasing this monstrous RDA. For the low price of 27.99 you can own an original, authentic design, that works better than most clones on the market. Go ahead and stop by www.alluringvapors.com and pick yours up today! They come in black, copper, and stainless.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed the review. Stay tuned, big things are coming. I'll be reviewing the SLS M6 by Ameravape (clone) and the Aspire Atlantis. Shoutout to Jonathan @ www.alluringvapors.com, I also enjoy working with you and your generosity.

Smokenmist E-Juice

Hey everybody! Another E-juice review, courtesy of www.smokenmist.com. Smokenmist has a great selection of must have, affordable vaping gear, as well as top notch e-liquid. What are you waiting for? Get on over there!

Overview : A tantalizing mixture of succulent strawberries and devilishly creamy cheesecake. Out of the mail, it smells a bit deceptive - kind of like cheesecake, but no hint of strawberry. Vaping it, however, is a completely different story. They come in standard bottles with the flavor name, company name, mixture, and warnings - I've got to say, I love it when a company takes their time to perfect what is in the bottle, and not the bottle itself.
Flavor : ADDV. All damn day vape. Once more. ALL. DAMN. DAY. VAPE. Strawberry monroe is in my opinion, the mother's milk/suicide bunny KILLER. With a delicate balance of sweet strawberry and the creamy, custard like taste of cheesecake filling, this is heaven in a bottle. I've never had something so sweet, so tasty, so.... just, yeah. I've really got to nag Aaron (president of smokenmist) about adding large ML bottles...say, a gallon? ;) In all seriousness though, if you're a dessert junkie like I am, this will absolutely blow you away.

Plush

80/20  VG-PG

Overview: A fruity blend, weaving peach, berries, and melons. I was curious why it was named "Plush", so as I was pulling the image, I read the description - "don't stroke the furry wall!" and as you can tell...it's a furry wall. Well, when the world slips you a Jeffery, stroke the furry wall.
Flavor: Despite the intriguing aroma and spectacular ingredients list, Plush unfortunately falls a bit short, in my opinion. I'm not a big fan of fruity juices, however peach is and always will be one of the few I can tolerate - unfortunately with plush, I get a tinge of berry, and an overwhelming amount of melon - and I am definitely not a fan of melon. To fruit/berry aficionados
, this has the potential to be a home run, however I've got to respectfully pass. I will note however, it does have a very clean taste - I find nearly all fruit juices overly sweet or artificial, but at least plush has a crisp, distinctive taste.

80/20  VG-PG

Overview: A summer time classic. The refreshing blend of tangy yet sweet raspberry and the delightfully sour lemonade culminate in a classic, tasteful beverage. Right out of the mail the crisp smell of lemonade permeates, cutting through the berry mix. Raspberry Lemonade used to be an ADV for, and I'm happy to say this particular incarnation finds it's way into that category with ease.
Flavor:  A simple yet complex mix - lemonade is notoriously hard to perfect. It can be too sweet, too bitter, too tangy, up to and including downright unvapeable. I know, I've had my fair share of  "lemons", no pun intended. It is evident however that Aaron has managed to perfect the blend, leading to artistry in a bottle - this is a definitive raspberry lemonade. The raspberry is pronounced, mixing well with the lemonade, curbing it's bitter-sweet taste. It's not too sweet, not too bitter, it's... it's actually quite impressive. I couldn't vape it all day. but it is definitely refreshing, sweet, and a treat of sorts - an after dinner vape, perhaps.
5/5

80/20  VG-PG
Overview: I've never had a dragon fruit, however after trying this juice I can say I don't really want to have one. It's not... bad, it's just... different. I imagined a sweet tasting juice, however it is kind of sour, almost like a melon.
Flavor: I, personally, was not a fan of this juice. It tastes like a sour melon. I really can't put my finger on it or articulate much more than that - I'm not a fan of melon. For what it's worth, however, my wife absolutely loved it. She tore through a 10ml in about a day. It's not a bad juice, I mean, it doesn't taste nasty, or have a funky smell, it's just.... different.
2/5

80/20  VG-PG

Overview: Despite the name, I instinctively knew what this was going to be - Zebra Stripe Gum. Don't ask me how, don't ask me why, I just had an inclination. I'm not huge on candy tasting vapes, this one however, kept me coming back for more. It's sweet, it's sour, it's zebra stripe gum and it takes me back to when I was eight years old.
Flavor: If you've ever had zebra stripe gum, than you know what to expect. If you haven't, well, to quote Mr. Ricky Bobby... if you don't chew zebra stripe gum, then .... well you can fill in the blanks, or watch the movie! Animal House Gum is delightfully sour and sweet, managing to replicate the taste of actual gum without compromising it's fruity and sweet integrity. If you're in the market for a sweet and sour vape with a candy kick, definitely pick up some animal house gum.

Skeleton Key by HCIGAR

Today, I'll be covering the Skeleton Key clone by HCIGAR, provided by Aaron at www.smokenmist.com. It's a work of art, and I'd like to urge all my readers to stop over at www.smokenmist.com for affordable prices on a variety of mechanical mods, tanks, juice and rebuildables.

Before I start this review, I'd like to take a moment to speak to Marquis personally. Although I sincerely doubt that the creators of the authentic Skeleton Key will be reading this review in particular, I'd still like this point to somehow get across.

The clone war will not stop, guys. Your legal team can threaten suppliers, vendors, and ebay sellers, (and rightfully so) but it is inevitable. Your device will continue to be copied, sold, and marketed with or without your patent(s) and trademark(s). As a company, I sincerely understand your objection - you have provided the community with a wonderful device, a device that contains your blood, sweat and tears - and it is being ripped from under you, and sold at a lower cost. Corners are being cut, manufacturing and QC processes aren't as strict as your manufacturing process might adhere to. While I do sympathize with you; know this. Your device IS a work of ART. You have created something so beautiful, so elegant, so profoundly efficient that it is hard to NOT clone it. With a clone available, your device can be in the hands of people who may otherwise never been able to afford something so exquisite, unique, and well made. Any publicity is good publicity, and I sincerely believe that a clone will find it's way into the hands of a user who very well may purchase the authentic - I know I will in the future, as I am impressed. Impressed enough to warrant spending 250.00+ on what is essentially a metal tube, a contact, and a switch.

The fact of the matter is, a large majority of the community simply cannot afford such a device, and while I would never, ever suggest a way to run your business or price your product, I would like you to see the other end of the spectrum- your innovative design is afforded the ability to find it's way into a larger niche of the market, something I personally find this to be invaluable - and I sincerely hope that those who own a clone of the Skeleton Key by Marquis take into consideration purchasing an authentic, as it is the only clone that has inspired me to do so personally. Feel free to email me at vapocalyptic@gmail.com if you see this message and would like to further discuss opinions and business practices, I'd love to hear from you.

With that said, the Skeleton Key by HCIGAR is a wonderful, wonderful mod, so much so I am hesitant to use it - it seems fitting that it remain on display, much like the authentic. Let's get onto the details and I'll share my thoughts.

CONSTRUCTION

- Brass
- Three piece design (18650, 18350, 18490, and separate sleeve to use a kick)
- Telescopic silver contact pin
- Silver firing contact
- Unique locking mechanism - magnetic 360 lock ring allows it to be locked, and unlocked, with a 1/4th of a turn
- 510 connection
- 23 mm diameter

PROS

- Superior machining, boasting beautifully made threads that are buttery smooth at each juncture
- Low voltage drop, under load test showed about .23 drop
- Silver contacts that won't deteriorate and wear down like copper
- Deep, pronounced engravings, notably the Key - I doubt this is wearing off anytime soon
- Innovative lock ring that can be adjusted with just a 1/4 of a turn

CONS

- Top caps are becoming a thing of the past - look at the 4NINE, Stingray X, Nemesis etc - the top cap is a bit gaudy and adds unnecessary length and weight, in it's absence you would notice a shorter profile and lower voltage drop
- 23 mm diameter, so not everything will sit flush

Design

In all honesty, I have yet to hold a mod as elegant as the Skeleton Key. Boasting a deep engraving on the main tube and quality laser engravings on the switch, it goes without saying that sometimes, simplicity is key. The device retains an aura of elegance without going overboard and employing a multitude of varying designs. The design was conceptualized with a hint of style and classiness, and it is safe to say HCIGAR managed to replicate this wonderfully. Pictures do not do the Skeleton Key justice - I had originally thought it to be too simplistic, lacking if you will. When it was in my hand, however, I could not help but be completely spellbound - intricacies of the engravings will captivate and amaze, even as a clone.

The mod itself is beautiful as well in brushed brass, and I can only imagine a natural patina will amplify it's antiquity and it's "days of old" inspirations. The top cap is notched, however it is is a bit too big for my taste - currently authentic owners are receiving improved flat caps. I would have liked to see HCIGAR wait and release their version with a hybrid / flat cap, but it isn't a deal breaker because the voltage drop is well within the acceptable range. A flat top cap would also afford a smaller profile - this thing is a bit big, not nearly as large as the king, though it definitely towers over my Fuhattan.

The switch, however, is something out of a dream - a cloners dream, if you will. Typically the clone community gets the short end of the stick when it comes to the switch. We have all dealt with the nightmare inducing nemesis switch, the endlessly crunchy stingray switch, and the infamous king switch. I would consider a top dollar purchase like the original just by the switch alone - it is that wonderful. I have had a ton of mods fire in my pocket, scorching my leg, decimating my high performance builds, so I find it extremely comforting to not have to worry about this ever happening.

The switch itself is brass, remaining quite conductive, however it is the design and innovation it exudes that makes me giddy with excitement. The switch itself is spring loaded, however the floating locking mechanism is magnetic. Not only does this afford trouble free operation, it also allows the Skeleton Key to be locked with just a 1/4t of a turn - I can lock, unlock, lock, unlock with just a flick of my finger, endlessly taunting my friends, who stand astonished in the inherent ease of it's  design.

Performance

Not only does the Skeleton Key marvel with it's articulate design and immaculate attention to detail, it also performs extremely well - I would go as far to say that it hands down trumps my entire collection. I ran a few different setups on it and compared them to my fuhattan

Skeleton Key with a Mephisto RDA - .4 dual coil
Skeleton Key with a Stillare V3  .2 dual coil
Skeleton Key with a Tugboat .8 twisted single coil

I tested each dripper on both the Manhattan and Skeleton key and hands down, the Skeleton Key put out denser, longer clouds than the fuhattan - a completely copper mod! Naysayers will have you believe that copper is the most conductive material to use although it is not. Silver is in fact the most electrically conductive metal. To think that HCIGAR managed to authenticate and implement high quality silver contacts at an affordable price is something out of a dream, I'd say. I absolutely love the telescopic contact feature - it is actually quite easy to adjust for battle rattle with just a few slight turns, and because it is a two piece design, I do not have to spend much time getting it right.

With that said, the Skeleton Key by HCIGAR is also surprisingly user friendly - I have been able to fire a variety of drippers without having to constant fiddle with the telescopic pin, or deal with battery rattle. I have yet to pair it with a tank or dripper that it refuses to fire - something I can't say for what is unfortunately quite a few mods in my collection.

Final thoughts

Without going off on a clone war tangent, I will just say this - I support the clone movement. I do prefer logoless designs, as I do not care for "made in the U.S.A" and 1:1 logo/design replications - imitation is the best form of flattery, but theft is always theft. I hope that the market comes to an agreement on the clone war soon, so that everybody can shut up and vape! After all, that's all we're trying to do, right?

With that said, the Skeleton Key by HCIGAR is hands down, the nicest clone on the market, at least in my experience. I would place this over the fuhattan, stingray x, nemesis, panzer, king, tree of life, caravela, stingray (in all it's incarnations), hades, etc - I have owned countless, and none of them stack up to the Skeleton key by HCIGAR.

It is well made. It is conductive as all hell. It hits like a turbo charged train. It has no noticeable construction or quality flaws. It has inspired me to purchase the authentic.

This is the real deal, folks. Shoutout to Aaaron at www.smokenmist.com he is a hell of a guy and a pleasure to do business with. Be sure to stop by and pick up a mod or some juice, his Strawberry Monroe a mothers milk killer - yes, I said that. Be sure to follow us on instagram @_vapocalyptic and @smokenmist.

PS: www.smokenmist.com has had to remove the Skeleton Key. If you're interested in purchasing the brass version for 34.99, please contact support@smokenmist.com. The copper version is 50.00. Thank you!

As always, vape strong and live long people.
