Vape Chef Review

Today I will be going over 4 liquids provided to me by The Vapor Chef. After hearing the rave reviews of Honey Peary over the years, I was definitely itching to get my hands on a few bottles!

Disclaimer: These products were provided to me for the basis of this review. I am not financially compensated, or affiliated with Vapor Chef in any way, shape, or form. What you are reading are on my honest opinions as a consumer, free of bias and monetary influence.

Thoughts: I'm not going to lie, I was extremely excited to try this juice in particular. As a dessert junkie, I have not had much success sourcing a very well mixed, accurate tasting Smores liquid. In theory, it sounds great, but chocolate is decidedly hard to replicate, and various other components are utilized to sweeten the mixture, such as marshmallow, graham cracker, etc. The bottle itself smells wonderful, with definite hints of both graham cracker and marshmallow. The inhale is very feint, tasting similar to graham crackers, with the exhale followed by the feint sweetness of marshmallow. The chocolate, unfortunately, was extremely light, unfortunately, and my palate could not pick up more than a subtle note. Overall, it's a sweet, "dry" tasting juice. I could definitely vape this consistently, but it does not capture what I initially anticipated. To it's credit, I've yet to have a good liquid with a chocolate base!
Verdict: 3/5 Smells wonderful, and I could definitely vape it, but it tasted more so like graham crackers and marshmallow.

Thoughts: This juice smells fantastic! I was blown away by the smell alone, picking up banana, nut, and bready muffin notes. Banuffin is without a doubt a home run. The inhale is reminiscent of fresh bananas, no artificial candy taste here. The exhale manages to perfect the slightly sugary, bread taste of a muffin, with hints of nuts throughout. To be blunt, this particular juice perfects what it emulates, offering no more, or less, than a sweet, nutty banana muffin. I could vape gallons of this, and it may be my next all day vape!
Verdict: 5/5. Absolutely stellar juice, smells wonderful, hits every flavor note perfectly, and does tastes exactly as intended.

Thoughts: Initially, I was beyond skeptical. In fact, I had to quickly reference the websites description, as I thought I was about to vape a creamy, buttered... beer. I'm not one to turn down a good beer, but I definitely do not want to vape it! Thankfully, this is nowhere close to being based on alcohol. Vapor Chef describes it as a creamy butterscotch, with vanilla, and other things. It definitely smells of rich butterscotch, and leaves behind a very pleasant aroma. The inhale is very decadent, thick and creamy, as if they managed to turn a pound of butterscotch candies into a liquid. The exhale is where you get the vanilla notes, they're crisp but not overpowering. It is an interesting blend, as the creaminess of the butterscotch blends well with the crisp vanilla taste. This is definitely a very rich liquid, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Verdict: 5/5. Expected beer, ended up being amazingly rich butterscotch and vanilla. This is great in the morning, or after a nice meal.

Thoughts: Going in, I wax not sure what to expect. I've never had the particular dessert, so I was decidedly skeptical, but intrigued as it does smell wonderfully tart and creamy. The inhale is a very rich apple taste, and similar to Banuffin, I'm happy to say it is both crisp and refreshing, and nowhere near artificial. On the exhale, I picked up rich caramel notes, with a bit of graham cracker, and vanilla. Though I've never had the dessert, I'll definitely be pulling up recipes, as this particular liquid is amazing! It captures the rich tartness of an apple and fantastically blends it with a caramel drizzle, with what tastes like graham cracker dust and vanilla. I have to say, I went through this particular bottle the quickest.
Verdict: 5/5. A wonderfully crisp apple and vanilla dessert flavor, light, but still rich all on it's own. I'd definitely recommend this to both those who enjoy fruits, as well as those who enjoy desserts.

Overall, I was extremely satisfied with what Vapor Chef provided me with. These are fantastic dessert liquids, and will decidedly satisfy even the sweetest of tooths. I'm looking forward to placing an order in the future, and definitely recommend you guys check them out as soon as possible. Thanks for stopping by!

MtBaker E-Juice Review

3MG
100% VG
Flavor: Guabanan Berry is an infusion of guava, bananas, and berries. This decidedly fruity offering is sure to entice those who prefer sweeter tasting juice, and much to my approval, it is definitively so. The flavors, while not inherently complex on their own, blend together well, forming a fruity, sweet, tasty infusion of tropical goodness. It’s a very light juice, with no particular flavor taking precedence – I detect equal parts banana, berry, and guava, with a slight emphasis on the tangy, crisp guava notes. All things considered, it is a delightfully light, flavorful vape, sure to appease those looking for a tasty tropical sensation.
Rating: 5/5, a great mix of classic staples. Easy on coils as well, this juice is clear.

3MG
100% VG

Flavor: This flavor is a bit of complex creation – out of the mail, I cannot sugarcoat it – it is not a very good juice. The mix is rather intricate, and definitely has to steep in order to flesh out the individual flavor notes. So, what did I do? I shelved it for a good two weeks, with ultra-sonic bathes here and there, til the bottle permeated with the familiar scent of delicious coffee cake. After giving it an ample amount of time to steep, I’ve got to say… I devoured this bottle. The coffee note is very, very subtle; in fact, the juice tastes more along the lines of the top layer of the cake. Crispy cinnamon with hints of brown sugar and creamy cake batter. For you dessert junkies out there, you can’t pass on this juice. Heed the warnings and steep it because it was not pleasant straight out of the box. Definitely a juice I plan on revisiting in the future.
Rating: 4/5. A tasty treat for dessert junkies, however, it does require a relatively long amount of time to age to its desired perfection.

3MG
100% VG

Flavor: A bold emission, removing the mint from the staple 'Thug Juice', this reincarnation aptly named Hug Juice is twist - berry and watermelon, sans menthol. I personally was never a fan of Thug Juice, so I was a bit excited to get my hands on this. Unfortunately, however, the mix somewhat faltered...perhaps I got a bum brew, or the mint really rounds out the flavor complexity, but it suffered from the perfumey, artificial taste that has a tendency to plague some liquids. I gave it an ample amount of time to steep, and sadly, it did not come to fruition, remaining bitter sweet, and artificial. I would like to note, however, a friend purchased the juice prior to this review, and I was able to try it. It tasted a bit better than the mix I received, with a crisp berry taste, and a feint watermelon note on the exhale.
Rating2/5. It seems to be hit or miss, but I know the liquid has the potential to be at least vapeable, if not enjoyable to some.

3MG
100% VG

Flavor: Constable hit this one out of the park, I'll say that much. CCC, as I'd like to call it, blends sweet sugar cookies with a hint of cream and coconut into a wonderfully enticing liquid. I'm a big dessert junkie, so I had a hunch this would be the best of the bunch ha-ha-ha. In all seriousness, however, I was right - this was definitely my favorite mixture. With just the right blend of coconut and sugar cookie, this juice was a win across all fronts in my book. It's light yet flavorful, crisp yet with a right amount of depth. The inhale is were the sugar cookie notes shine, with the exhale permeating coconut and a hint of sweet cream. It's another, if I could, I'd drink it type of juice.
Rating: 5/5, a sure fire way to appease you dessert junkies!

3MG
100% VG

Flavor: The ever famous Hawk Sauce went through a re-invigoration itself, if you will, similar to what we saw with Hug Juice. Thawed Sauce is a re-imagining of sorts, omitting the menthol from the uber popular berry tart liquid. To be honest, I'm a fan. The menthol really made the juice what it was, but surprisingly, it's omission still leaves behind a solid, enjoyable liquid. It's everything you'd expect from a bottle of Hawk, minus the menthol - tart and succulent, flavorful berry tastes run rampant throughout the bottle, ensuring a pleasant experience all around. It's fairly light, good to go out of the mail box, and won't wreck your coils. If you're on the market for a somewhat sour, semi-sweet berry vape, look no further than Thawed Sauce.
Rating4/5, a decidedly solid berry vape for all you fruit fans out there.

Flavor: RY4 blends are among the elite of the elite in the vape world, one of the few juices around since day one. This particular mixture is, to date, my absolute favorite offering. The extroadinarily robust, crisp tobacco taste blends exceptionally well with hints of vanilla and caramel, leading to an industry standard that can still stand the test of time. At this point in my tenure, I stay away from any and all tobacco liquids, as I am completely content leaving the taste, as well as the idea of tobacco, in the past. I however, cannot shy away from a bottle of Ruyan 4 by MtBakerVapor. It's just one damn fine juice, and for all those chasing that robust flavorful tobacco taste with just the right amount of something sweet, Ruyan 4 is sure to please everybody out there. Just an all around fantastic juice, even for people like me, who could sleep peacefully knowing RY4 of all kinds disappeared.
Rating4/5, a decidedly solid berry vape for all you fruit fans out there.

3MG
100% VG

Flavor: Before I start, I'd like to point out that I have yet to find a vapeable cherry juice. I'm not sure if the flavoring just does not transition well into a juice, or if we just lack a proper flavor, but this is not a juice I enjoyed. Out of the mail, it was bitter, harsh, and overly currant - not a fan, so I threw it in my ultrasonic over the course of two weeks, and tried again. After some time to steep, the mixture mellowed out, and I was able to taste the citrus blend, but the cherry was just overpowering in a very bad way. It tastes like a bitter cough syrup, and I was not able to enjoy it in any setup. For what it is worth, a co-worker enjoyed it, but to each their own.
Rating1/5. MtBaker are experimenting with new juices, so I won't hold it against them, but this just is not up to standard.

3MG
100% VG

Flavor: An infusion of berry and sweet candy in an attempt to capture the juicy goodness of taffy, I've got to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I personally don't care for candy vapes, or fruit for that matter - while I will never shy away from giving proper dues, I'm simply far more interested in the world of desserts...if you haven't got that yet. Wacky Taffy, however, is a delightful surprise, offering a very sweet, berry vape, that I could honestly use all day long. I noticed no soapiness, no perfume taste, nothing to complain about - it's just one groovy, simple juice. I'm a big fan, if you're looking for an awesomely sweet berry juice, pick up a bottle of Wacky Taffy, you won't be disappointed.
Rating: 5/5, a very nice surprise, one of the best juices I've had from MtBaker.

MtBakerVapor Liquid Review

Hey everybody! Today I'll be going over some more MtBakerVapor liquid, which is always a pleasure!

3 MG
100% VG

Description:Slim Mints e-juice is the perfect balance of flavors, combining the taste of rich chocolate cookies with undertones of delicious creamy mint filling, making this flavor a refreshing yet decadent treat.
Flavor: Aptly named "Slim Mints", it's no secret that the sole inspiration of this juice is the ever popular, famous and delicious, girl scout thin mint cookies. At this point, you're probably wondering if the liquid lives up to the reputation the tasty treat has cemented for itself. The answer is...absolutely! Slim Mint is a shocking realization of the classic treat, practically duplicating the taste and finely replicating it in liquid form. The inhale is a bit creamy, with a great chocolate note, with the refreshing mint following on the exhale. A very straight forward liquid, but when it works, it works.
Rating: 5/5 - a nice take on a classic treat, great and consistently tasty in ever setup I tried.

100% VG

DescriptionFresh strawberries, heavy whipping cream and fluffy cake flavors come together in this deliciously irresistible Strawberry Shortcake e-juice.
Flavor: Strawberry Shortcake is a fairly tasty juice, but in my opinion, it has one downfall - the strawberry. I'm very picky when it comes to strawberry, but in this particular juice, it wasn't so much the taste of the strawberry, but the heaviness of the flavor - it had a bit too much. The whipped cream was light, as I only tasted it faintly on the inhale, with the cake batter flavor emerging on the exhale, but similarly so. The strawberry flavor is very strong, and I felt that it kind of over powered the balance and overall flavor of the juice - perhaps a flavor shot or two could even that out, or completely wreck it...something to consider. If you like strawberry, you may really, really like this - it's not that I didn't, I was just expecting more on the dessert front.
Rating: 3/5 - a decent juice, but could use a less strawberry, more cream and cake. Though faint, they tasted exceptionally well.

Description:Inspired by one of our most favorite homemade cake recipes, Lemon Bar is perfect for a lazy Saturday afternoon with a glass of milk and freshly baked cookies. This perfect blend of sweet, sour and mouthwatering cake will leave any baked good enthusiast wanting more!
Flavor: Ever had a lemon bar? If not, you're missing out. My mother makes the best in the world, and they happen to be one of my favorite treats - needless to say, I had ridiculously high expectations for this juice, and the anticipation was high. It was the first bottle I tore into, and the only I couldn't watch steep - I had to try it...and you know what? I'm glad I did, because it tastes AMAZING! Lemon bar by MtBakerVapor has, in my opinion, the perfect balance of light, fluffy cake, and tart, sour lemon. The lemon is a very pure taste - so much so, you coulda told me it was organic and I'd believe you. The cake batter is very rich, with a slight hint of sweet cream - it's not so much dry, but sweet and creamy. The inhale is rich and lemony, somewhat bitter sweet, with cake batter and cream following on the exhale. Overall it is a very, very well done blend, and I was incredibly impressed. All day vape for sure, and a well done homage to it's inspiration.
Rating: 5/5 - a wonderfully artful take on a tasty treat

Description:Banana Cream Pie is a delicious dessert flavor with notes of custard and fresh bananas, and subtle hints of nuts and graham cracker crust.
Flavor: If you haven't noticed, I really like my liquid in dessert/treat form. I've got one hell of a sweet tooth, and Banana Cream Pie by MtBakerVapor managed to hit the spot. All the components of the tantalizing tasteful pie are here in spades - semi sweet banana, fluffy tasty cream, and graham cracker crust. The inhale is where the banana really shines - it's quite tasteful, a bit on the artificial side but not too over the top. The exhale is where the mix itself shines - the cream and crust combo is stellar, and quickly became hard to put down. Overall, it is a very, very well done juice. The banana and cream go very well together with the graham cracker providing the backbone. I'd say that the graham cracker is the dominant flavor, but that's not a bad thing by any stretch - it's a damn good taste, a bit dry, sweet, yet very, very flavorful.
Rating: 4/5 - if the banana was refined just a tad, I'd vape it by the gallon.

Description:With a myriad of fruit flavors all packed into one e-juice, Fruity Hoops is one of our more deliciously complex flavors. Fruity Hoops e-juice is a delectably sweet and fruity vape, sure to delight any vaper.
Flavor: Let this steep a bit because I know the blend can be complex and I didn't want an off putting taste from the get go. Fast forward two weeks later and color me impressed! I was surprised at just how well MBV pulled off the fruit loop formula -  so much so that I blew through the 30ml in two days! It has every note you'd look for - the crisp lemon, the dry cereal taste, a bit of orange, a bit of everything that makes the cereal great. The inhale is where the lemon and orange shine, with the exhale tasting more-so like the texture of the cereal, dry and sweet. I was a bit disappointed that it didn't have a creaminess to it - it tastes like the dry cereal, but I didn't sweat it much, as it was still very good. I would like to see some sort of cream/custard combo in the future to emulate the milk taste, but as for now, I'm very, very satisfied. If you're in the market for a cereal flavor that is tasty, affordable, and gone too soon, check out Fruity Loops by MtBakerVapor.
Rating: 5/5 - an affordable, tasty take on a new-found favorite liquid.

Hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. It's always a pleasure to work with MtBakerVapor, they're great to do business with, and just top-notch people all around. Make sure you stop by and pick up some liquid today, use coupon code "vapocalyptic" for 10% off your order!

Velvet Cloud Vapor E-Juice

Hey everybody! Today I'll be going over some of Velvet Cloud Vapors E-Liquid. I've got to say, it is some of the best all natural, organic juice I've had the pleasure of vaping. Lets get to it!

Velvet Cloud Vapor utilizes all natural, organic ingredients in their juice, distilled water, USP grade vegetable glycerin, and hand brewed, american sourced nicotine extract. Exercise caution - due to the natural ingredients, you may want to avoid blends that contain flavoring(s) you may be allergic to, such as fruit, nuts, etc. You can e-mail VCV and double check that you juice does not include such ingredients that may have an adverse effect on your health. VCV blends come in 0-24 mg nicotine, 100% VG, 15ml, 30ml 30ml x 4, and 120ml bottles, starting as low as 9.90. Bottle preference is plastic or glass.

DescriptionGingerbread with the right amount of spice and cake like texture to feel fresh from the oven, with a dollop of frosting on top. Deliciously baked on the inhale, a glaze of sweet frosting on the exhale.
Impression: This is a liquid that immediately had me thinking "I never thought of vaping this, but I wish I had!" Why? I don't know, really. I definitely love gingerbread cookies, especially the frosted version, but I've yet to stumble across a similarly flavored liquid. Thank god I did. Straight out of the mail, it smelled like a fresh baked gingerbread cookie. I was instantly impressed, as it smelt as organic and natural as the ingredients used to make it.
Flavor: Spot on gingerbread. You get the semi-sweet cookie taste on the inhale, with the frosted icing on the exhale. It is a perfect combo as a treat, and more-so as a liquid - it was genuinely enjoyable, sweet and dessert like, but not overbearing, The flavoring was light yet I found myself thinking more would be intolerable.
Overall: I'm not 100% sure if this is a seasonal liquid or a staple in their line up, but give it a try. If you enjoy those little frosted gingerbread cookies, this liquid will be a constant in your daily rotation. It's sweet, desserty, and is gone too soon. 5/5

DescriptionAn amazing and enigmatic blend of chocolates, cream, butterscotch, doughnuts, and fudge.
Impression: Ahhh....the moment I saw the "minty" I told myself, I'll try this last. I personally have only ran into two, maybe three, minty liquids that I could vape consistently. The smell of it was kind reminiscent of a thin mint - okay, I can go with that. Let me just say....Minty Mewlews was a wonderful, wonderful surprise.
Flavor: A lot is going on in this juice. The aforementioned description can be a bit intimidating - it is not often that mixers can pull off mixtures that call for a variety of flavors - yet Minty Mewlews is a particular, wonderful amalgamation of everything decadent and sweet...with just the right kick of minty freshness. The inhale is very rich in chocolate, almost with a hint of glazed doughnut, while the exhale provides a kick of creamy butterscotch and a blast of mint to tie it all together. This particular liquid is quite an enigma - in a dripper, I primarily got butterscotch, mint, and chocolate. In a tank, I got a lot of cream, dough, and mint. It shines particularly well when used with semi - tight airflow and twisted wire to allow the flavors to pop. All in all, it has a very rich taste, and a nice twist of mint. Each and every aforementioned flavor shines in the mix, albeit in their own way, and typically dependent on the particular build you're utilizing. Prior to vaping this, I'd rather mint stay away from my chocolate, cream, and butterscotch liquids, however Minty Mewlews has it's own special place in my rotation from now on.
Overall: Just give it a shot. It is a lot to take in, but Minty Mewlews remains rich in chocolate and butterscotch, light on the doughnuts, and has just the right amount of mint to make it all somehow work. 5/5

Description: A thick, delicious favorite - creamy vanilla custard
Impression: Vanilla custard is no doubt a favorite in the community. It seems many outfits work diligently to craft their own unique, flavorful, and inspiring custard blend. With such a variety to chose from, it is almost surprising that many who enjoy custard, seem to stand by their particular brand - be it Cuttwoods creamy strawberry unicorn milk, the ever eggy yet delicious Custards Last Stand, and for this guy.... plain 'ol Vanilla Custard from Velvet Cloud Vapor.
Flavor: Yup. I said it. In the war on custard, I'll be at the frontlines for Velvet Cloud, because I would literally drink this if it didn't make me sick (don't do it! never! ever!) It is in my opinion, the perfect execution of Vanilla Custard - flavorful, thick, and not overly eggy, but just the right amount of cream and vanilla blended together, culminating in an almost batter-like taste. The flavor is consistent in every setup I ran it through, equally flavorful, warm, and down right devilish. It was an all day vape ... for about 3 hours, and than it was gone...and I wanted to cry.
Overall: The finest blend take on Vanilla Custard I have tried to date. I would recommend this to every custard junkie, every dessert junkie, and even those who swear off dessert liquids (believe me, I know too many who do!) This will convert, turn a head, impress, and command your love and money all in one. 5/5

Description:A rich and unique blend of Strawberry and Guava.
Impression:If you've read a few of my liquid reviews, you'd quickly take note that I am not the biggest fan of strawberry. When I started vaping, Guava by MtBakerVapor was my all day vape. I was excited to try an organic mix, but leery of the strawberry - I have had some decent, some bad, and some downright insulting strawberry liquids but this....well I'll be damned if I wasn't surprised again. 5 for 5? Surely he is brown nosing...nope. Nope nope nope.
Flavor: The overall flavor profile is impeccably sweet and tasty, fruity and tasty, crushing the long line of artificial tasting blends before it. I personally avoid fruity liquids, though some are good (green apple being a favorite) I just cannot enjoy them. Strawb-Gwab managed to shake me free of that, becoming the first liquid in my rotation to not be a dessert of some sort. The strawberry is impressive, serene, even. The taste is reminiscent to the bite of a fresh picked, succulent strawberry during summer - sweet, a bit tangy, and ever-so delicious. The guava blends well in the mix, providing a slightly sweeter, almost tangy kick on the exhale. Strawberry and guava - nothing complex is happening in this juice, but it tastes absolutely refined, a mastered blend, if you will.
Overall: Delicious! One of the best fruit flavored liquids I've tried, possibly on the market. If you're the kind of vaper who is always chasing the fruitiest, tastiest liquid, give Strawb-Gwab a shot - I promise you won't regret it! 5/5

DescriptionAn amazing and enigmatic blend of chocolates, cream, butterscotch, doughnuts, and fudge.
Impression: Truly enigmatic, in a way that I am utterly dumbfounded that such a (seemingly) complex mixture could exceed every expectation I had, going above and beyond my suppositions.
Flavor: The blend is seemingly preternatural - I did not anticipate the juice to be so... so flavorful, so rich, so silky smooth and decadent in every way imaginable. Mewlews Magic capitalizes on each ingredient within, allowing each and every flavor note time to shine. In a dripper, the inhale was primarily chocolate and cream, with the butterscotch and dough taste on the exhale. The butterscotch permeates throughout every setup I tried, it is definitely the strongest flavor in the mix. In an RTA, it was a creamy, buttery vape, with chocolate lingering on each exhale. In a kanger tank (sub tank to be specific) the doughnut/cream elements really shined - this dessert vape was not as creamy, boasting a rich, chocolately bakery taste. To be perfectly honest, this was my favorite juice out of the bunch - it took a lot of flavors I loved and smashed them together with unrelenting success.
Overall: Give Mewlews Magic a chance, you're doing a disservice to your taste buds otherwise. If you crave dessert liquids like myself, or want to get your feet wet, I can think of no better liquid to try. 5/5

I've got to say, this is one of the most gleaming, positive reviews I've had the chance to do in a while. It's nice to have liquid that lives up to it's expectations, exceeding it's potential in nearly every way imaginable. I feel like a fool for not trying out VCV earlier, their innovative take on organic, boutique liquid definitely convinced me that the premium price tag is definitely worth it. Visit www.velvetcloud.com today and try a liquid or two, hopefully you'll be as impressed as I was!

Cana DNA 30w + Magma RDA review

Hey there! Today, I'll be going over the Cana DNA 30w box mod, as well as what I believe to be it's soul-mate, the Magma RDA. I'd like to thank Michael and Mikaela over at MTBAKERVAPOR for the opportunity.

Specifications

Features:
  • Compact size ~2.0"L x 1.0"W x 3.4"H
  • The separate up and down buttons allow for wattage adjustment in 0.1 watt increments
  • Uses a single 18650 Battery
  • Flush 510 connector
  • Flush dome style Fire Button
  • Wattage can be adjusted from:
    • 7w-20w on AW IMR and Panasonic CGR batteries
    • 7w-20+w on Sony VTC5 batteries
  • Atomizer Resistance: 0.3Ω-3.3Ω
  • OLED display shows battery level, voltage, watts and ohms
  • Micro USB charger & tiny screwdriver included
  • Able to fire 30watts at any ohm resistance in the range listed above

With the influx of 50w, 100w, and even 150w+ mods, a lot of us are beginning to forget about the original king of the watt game - the DNA 30 the CANA does not feature an authentic DNA 30). At it's peak, the DNA 30w chip stood tall atop the mountain, reigning supreme. As time passed, however, we as a community began to want more - more wattage, more volts, more power. Some of you out there may be chuckling at the thought of bringing your Cana 30w back into rotation, yet a vast majority of the community rarely go above 20 watts - so like fine wine, this is a device that is sure to get better with age. Let's get down to the review.

- Build Quality

Well, the build quality is sure to be on everyone's mind, considering it is a clone of the wildly popular Hana Modz DNA30. I have seen the original, and I can tell you, this is of similar build quality - it is not as meticulously put together as it's authentic counterpart, but it is clear that a LOT of work went into manufacturing the device.

The cana 30w board is housed within a very sturdy piece of aluminum - the 510 connector, firing switch, and wattage buttons are all very well drilled, and seated nicely. The box itself is rather small, fitting comfortably in the palm of your hand. Within the box, you have your battery sled, chip, and wiring.

One thing I'd like to point out, is the screws securing the back door are a bit wonky - if you use the blue screwdriver included, you will end up with a stripped screw. As long as you use a high quality driver of appropriate size, you shouldn't run into a problem - I have noticed others complain about stripping, but I have yet to have this problem. I'd recommend gently removing and and reinserting, as well as using quality tools.

As you can see, it is a very seamless design. The battery sled is seated comfortably, and the solder job isn't half bad - it is not as well done as other boxes out there, however if you're handy with a soldering iron, it should be a walk in the park to touch up the connections - if necessary. The board itself is housed in an enclosed space - it is hard to make out in a picture, but the wiring does seem to be a bit cramped - I like to assume because it is a very small enclosure. That however, is nitpicky at best - if you know your way around an iron, you will find yourself at home if you run into a problem, such as a weak connection, or loss thereof.

The battery sled itself is quite sturdy, however it could do with a ribbon - after about a week of use, mine began to rattle within the housing - I suspect this is because of the force required to remove the battery, as the contacts are not spring loaded, or afford any "give." Worst case scenario, you're looking at soldering the connectors to the sled if you run into this problem. In all honesty, I'd recommend dedicating a single battery to the device, and charging it via USB to eliminate the problem.

The buttons on the Cana are a pleasure to use, affording a clicky, tactile feel. They're rounded, located on the side of the box - one for power, one to lower wattage, and one to increase wattage. Some complain that they're too small, however I find them to the perfect size - they're firm, easy to press, and seem to be of high quality.

The 510 connector is flush dome style, 22mm, which is great - every atty I have thrown at it have sat flush, and beautifully.

The LCD screen is nicely done as well - the readout is very clear, accurate, and well placed. The readout will display your battery life, voltage, wattage, and ohms. This is useful if you're trying to hit a target wattage, or want to know your battery life at a glance.

I cannot comment on the board itself - I have not opened the casing to examine it, however it has yet to give me a single issue - no random firing, no error in firing, etc. I know people who have had the device for quite a long time, and these boards seem to kick for quite a while.

Outside of the iffy soldering and stiff sled, the inside of the box is very well done - functional, simple, and appealing.

- Performance

Nothing quite like a Ferrari with a blown engine - similarly, this device can be as beautiful as it wants, but how does it perform?

Yup, the Cana 30w performs as well as it looks - if you configure it correctly. You see, in order to take full advantage of the 30w chip, you want to your build to hit a target resistance. The box itself regulates power, converting your wattage to volts, it goes a bit like this...

Wattage set -> Ohm detection -> voltage adjustment.

It can get a bit confusing, but it is nothing you can't wrap your head around - with a basic understanding of ohms law (something I suggest you know like the back of your hand) and electrical knowledge (feel free to study), you will have a better understanding on the concept. For the sake of simplicity, I'll break down the build I have

30g twisted 2mm coil, 11 wraps, hitting a target resistance of 1.6 ohms. At 30 watts, the box converts the output amp limit to 6.9 volts - a bit shy of the 8.3 max output, but still pretty powerful. When using a coil with a high surface area, and a higher resistance, you are able to fully utilize the potential of the box.

SO, with that in mind, it goes without saying - if you're looking to sub ohm on this thing, don't. 30w is a great amount of power, but for builds in the .02 - 0.7 range, it is kind of useless. With the cana, you want to build higher, in order to fully optimize the volt capacity the chip affords, and when you do...it's pretty amazing.

With a 1.6 ohm coil, I get dense, thick, flavorful vapor at 30 watts - however keep in mind, that just because you're building higher, does not mean you're getting more battery life - higher wattage requires more amperage, which equals a faster draining battery. I can get about a days use on the cana, but no more - you definitely want to invest in a high drain, preferably new battery, if you'd like to utilize it's full power.

With all the electrical talk out of the way, at 30 watts, the cana simply rips - it performs very, very well. If you're not yet looking to get into rebuildables, it performs equally well with clearomizers - the nautilus mini with BVC coils is heavenly to use around 18 watts, producing satisfying vapor and amazing flavor. In my opinion, the box shines at full power, but is definitely no slouch to use in the 15 - 25 watt range, offering a very pleasant vaping experience.

In my opinion, the Magma RDA was built for this mod. I'll give a quick run-down on the magma, but it is a staple in plenty arsenals, so if you're reading this, I'm sure you've at least heard of it.

Features
  • Available with Stainless Steel or Brass ring, or a full  Black Finish.
  • Extended Juice Basin.
  • 22mm Diameter.
  • Two 3mm Wide Posts.
  • Dual Direct to Coil Airhole (around 1.5mm away from coils).
  • External Airflow Selection (1mm, 2mm, 3mm); Options for Single or Dual Airflow.
  • Poles are Welded to the Base for Durability.
  • Positive Insulator Hidden in the Base to Avoid Melting
Threaded Dome Chamber Top Cap

The RDA itself is exceptionally well bit. The threads are very clean, the posts are incredibly sturdy - they're welded to the base, so you should not see wobble. For a clone, I was very impressed - a friend of mine had the authentic, and they're near identical, sans the logo - this particular magma is logoless, which I find sleek and appealing. I feel that the magma is one of infinites greatest attempts in the clone market - it is 1:1, and performs just as well as the authentic.

Thanks to the domed chamber top cap, the magma manages to pull off incredible, out of this world flavor. I've yet to find an RDA that can stack up to it in terms of flavor - sure, 3mm airflow isn't exactly for cloud chasing, but it surely no slouch in the department. With a 1.6 ohm coil, air flow wide open, set to 30 watts, the magma absolutely rips - flavor and vapor that are hard to beat. Nowadays, a lot of rebuildables are opting for quad posts, huge caps, chuff tops, and crazy airflow. While I certainly love those, it's important to not loose sight of the other end of the spectrum - clouds are great fun, but sometimes...you just need some FLAVOR. Look nowhere else, people. I firmly believe the Magma should be packaged right alongside the Cana, or any box mod for that matter.

- Verdict

Let's take a look at the pro's and cons

PROS
  • Nice construction
  • Responsive buttons
  • LCD readout is accurate and easy to navigate
  • 30 watt
  • Flush 510
  • Sleek and compact

CONS

  • Soldering can be hit or miss
  • Battery sled is stiff
  • Device must be put to sleep (click five times) and awoken (click five times) - would be nicer if you could just turn it on and off on a whim
In the current market, I'd definitely recommend a purchase if you can find it sub ~60 dollars. It's a

well made device, but it does have a reputation - some use it as a daily driver, others are addled with woes. I personally have yet to encounter a problem, but remember - these devices are from china (as with the majority of equipment) where quality control isn't exactly protocol. Just because mine performs well, does not guarantee that your's will. Be sure to inspect your devices 510 connection, threads, buttons, and solder points to make sure that it is in good working order. Never throw a questionable build at the device - it does have short circuit protection, but it is a clone board, and electronics can fail.

The Vape Shack 808 Juice Review

Today I'll be covering some juice I received from the Vape Shack. They're located in Hawaii and I must say, they have very affordable prices on QUALITY juice. I swear it is some of the tastiest juice I've ever had! Starting at 5.00 for a 10ml or 30.00  for a 120ml, it is hard to go wrong.

3mg
Overview: Aunty Li Hing is a unique flavor, which also happens to be a popular treat in Hawaii.
Final impression: Aunty Li Hing is a very interesting flavor. It tastes like a mixture of pineapple and mango, which a very sugary taste permeating throughout. It is incredibly sweet, and a deep red - this will stain your cotton something fierce. It's an interesting flavor though, as it is a truly unique taste - a fruity, yet incredibly sweet, vape. I could not vape this consistently as it gets tiring, but it is a nice juice when you're looking for a very sweet change of pace. 4/5

3mg
Overview: Ah, the peanut butter and banana sandwich. Aptly named after quite possibly the biggest fan of the tasty treat, Fat Elvis is a take on the classic gooey, tasty sandwich that Elvis himself swore by.
Final impression: Damn. This juice is absolutely amazing. It manages to perfect a natural peanut butter taste without any weird aftertaste, or odd butter flavor. The banana is incredibly real, a majority of banana flavors taste like runtz to me, this however tastes like the real fruit. It is a winning combination, just like the sandwich. It's a very creamy, thick vape, but it definitely does the dessert justice. I could vape this for the rest of my life. 5/5

3mg
Overview: An inspiring take on a beloved cereal, Captain Crunch.
Final impression: Out of the mail, the bottle smelled just like the box of cereal - I had high hopes. They were surpassed. I am quickly becoming a cereal juice junkie, and this is juice is no slouch. It has the berry taste, the corn cereal taste, and even a splash of creamy milk. It's definitely one of the best cereal flavors I've ever had, and this is another juice I could vape for the rest of my life! It's sweet, decadent, and disappears very, very quickly. 5/5

3mg
Overview: Another take on a staple dessert, banana cream tries to emulate the creamy, velvety vanilla pudding, and ripe banana taste.
Final impression: This juice didn't do it for me. I have yet to have a good banana cream, and I really hoped this would be it - it smelt wonderful. However, the pudding taste is a bit funky, almost like a bad custard, and the banana isn't anything like the fat elvis juice - it tastes like candy. It's not a bad juice, I am sure somebody would like it - it is certainly vapeable. However it did disappoint me, and I personally would not revisit it. 2/5

3mg
Overview: An interesting mixture, of which I couldn't begin to describe. It is sweet, fruity, and unique.
Final impression: Unicorn Tears taste like, well....unicorn tears. It is magical, you could say. It is incredibly fruity, but sweet at the same time - it is almost like every berry had be turned into a delicious candy and melted into a liquid. It's one of those juices you've just got to try, and you will either love it or hate it. I personally loved it, it's a very sweet, fruity vape, that is done right. This is a very hard juice to make, as "candy like" fruit can and usually does taste horrible. Unicorn Tears however managed to perfect the secret. Grab a bottle, let your taste buds explain it, because it is pretty hard to tell you just how awesome this juice is. 5/5
3mg
Overview: If you know, you know.
Final impression: This seems to be a secretive flavor, as even the websites overview states "if you know, you know." Perhaps it is a hit locally, a secret mixture, I am not sure - I am not native to the state. I can however tell you what I do know, and it is that this flavor is fantastic. It tastes like fruit punch with a strong menthol kick. For some, menthol is a deal breaker. I enjoy it if it is done well, and V Mist is a homerun. If you're looking for a fruity, sweet flavor with an icy chill, V mist will NOT disappoint. 5/5

The Vape Shack goes to show you that premium juice does not mean premium price. At just $5.00 for 10/ml, you too can enjoy some quality, tasty juice, without breaking the bank. Get over to the vapeshack now and pick yourselves up some killer juice!

Smokenmist E-Juice

Hey everybody! Another E-juice review, courtesy of www.smokenmist.com. Smokenmist has a great selection of must have, affordable vaping gear, as well as top notch e-liquid. What are you waiting for? Get on over there!

0 MG
80/20 VG-PG

Overview : A tantalizing mixture of succulent strawberries and devilishly creamy cheesecake. Out of the mail, it smells a bit deceptive - kind of like cheesecake, but no hint of strawberry. Vaping it, however, is a completely different story. They come in standard bottles with the flavor name, company name, mixture, and warnings - I've got to say, I love it when a company takes their time to perfect what is in the bottle, and not the bottle itself.
Flavor : ADDV. All damn day vape. Once more. ALL. DAMN. DAY. VAPE. Strawberry monroe is in my opinion, the mother's milk/suicide bunny KILLER. With a delicate balance of sweet strawberry and the creamy, custard like taste of cheesecake filling, this is heaven in a bottle. I've never had something so sweet, so tasty, so.... just, yeah. I've really got to nag Aaron (president of smokenmist) about adding large ML bottles...say, a gallon? ;) In all seriousness though, if you're a dessert junkie like I am, this will absolutely blow you away.
5/5

Plush
0 MG
80/20  VG-PG

Overview: A fruity blend, weaving peach, berries, and melons. I was curious why it was named "Plush", so as I was pulling the image, I read the description - "don't stroke the furry wall!" and as you can tell...it's a furry wall. Well, when the world slips you a Jeffery, stroke the furry wall.
Flavor: Despite the intriguing aroma and spectacular ingredients list, Plush unfortunately falls a bit short, in my opinion. I'm not a big fan of fruity juices, however peach is and always will be one of the few I can tolerate - unfortunately with plush, I get a tinge of berry, and an overwhelming amount of melon - and I am definitely not a fan of melon. To fruit/berry aficionados
, this has the potential to be a home run, however I've got to respectfully pass. I will note however, it does have a very clean taste - I find nearly all fruit juices overly sweet or artificial, but at least plush has a crisp, distinctive taste.
3/5

80/20  VG-PG

Overview: A summer time classic. The refreshing blend of tangy yet sweet raspberry and the delightfully sour lemonade culminate in a classic, tasteful beverage. Right out of the mail the crisp smell of lemonade permeates, cutting through the berry mix. Raspberry Lemonade used to be an ADV for, and I'm happy to say this particular incarnation finds it's way into that category with ease.
Flavor:  A simple yet complex mix - lemonade is notoriously hard to perfect. It can be too sweet, too bitter, too tangy, up to and including downright unvapeable. I know, I've had my fair share of  "lemons", no pun intended. It is evident however that Aaron has managed to perfect the blend, leading to artistry in a bottle - this is a definitive raspberry lemonade. The raspberry is pronounced, mixing well with the lemonade, curbing it's bitter-sweet taste. It's not too sweet, not too bitter, it's... it's actually quite impressive. I couldn't vape it all day. but it is definitely refreshing, sweet, and a treat of sorts - an after dinner vape, perhaps.
5/5

80/20  VG-PG
Overview: I've never had a dragon fruit, however after trying this juice I can say I don't really want to have one. It's not... bad, it's just... different. I imagined a sweet tasting juice, however it is kind of sour, almost like a melon.
Flavor: I, personally, was not a fan of this juice. It tastes like a sour melon. I really can't put my finger on it or articulate much more than that - I'm not a fan of melon. For what it's worth, however, my wife absolutely loved it. She tore through a 10ml in about a day. It's not a bad juice, I mean, it doesn't taste nasty, or have a funky smell, it's just.... different.
2/5

80/20  VG-PG

Overview: Despite the name, I instinctively knew what this was going to be - Zebra Stripe Gum. Don't ask me how, don't ask me why, I just had an inclination. I'm not huge on candy tasting vapes, this one however, kept me coming back for more. It's sweet, it's sour, it's zebra stripe gum and it takes me back to when I was eight years old.
Flavor: If you've ever had zebra stripe gum, than you know what to expect. If you haven't, well, to quote Mr. Ricky Bobby... if you don't chew zebra stripe gum, then .... well you can fill in the blanks, or watch the movie! Animal House Gum is delightfully sour and sweet, managing to replicate the taste of actual gum without compromising it's fruity and sweet integrity. If you're in the market for a sweet and sour vape with a candy kick, definitely pick up some animal house gum.
4/5

It's been an absolute pleasure working with Aaron and www.smokenmist.com. I
'd like to once again personally thank him for his generosity and support; people like you are the backbone of Vapocalyptic. The knowledge and experience I gain by working alongside companies like yours are what propels not only Vapocalyptic but myself forward.

Thanks for reading yet another Vapocalyptic review, and as always, vape strong and live long.
